PREPARING YOUR HOME FOR SALE
I provide sellers with a complimentary staging consultation that will show their home in the best possible light.
Rooms can appear much larger just by smart furniture placement. If possible, it’s best to show a home with furniture as most people can’t visualize where pieces will go when a room is vacant.
Decluttering can make a world of difference. Most people don’t realize that a picture of a room gives the impression of lots more clutter than seeing a room in person. Since 92% of buyers look online first, if a room appears to be cluttered, a buyer may not be able to see past that clutter and won’t be interested in touring your home.
Many buyers are interested in a great kitchen these days. Pay particular attention to the kitchen cupboards by getting rid of pantry items that are old and no longer usable. Decluttering will give the appearance of more space and will help a buyer in analyzing whether or not their items will fit in the space provided. Buyers look in the refrigerators as well so take some time to clean and declutter.
Closets appear much larger if not completely filled. If you can’t pare down your clothing, buy a few wardrobe boxes that you will need for moving anyway, place them in the garage and place the clothing that you won’t be wearing in the next few months there.
Clean, Clean, Clean! It’s best to hire a professional service to clean your home inside and out. Power washing the outside of your home gives a fresh look. Cleaning windows, baseboards and areas that haven’t been cleaned in awhile will give the impression to a buyer that your home has been well taken care of.
Great curb appeal will make a great first impression. Plant some pretty flowers in the ground or in containers. Adding a bench or chair with a pillow that matches the flowers will give a pulled-together look.
I have lots of great tips and can’t wait to share them with you!
