HIRING A REALTOR®
Some of the most important things to consider in hiring a realtor are experience, availability and negotiating skills. It’s critical that your REALTOR® understands what your needs are and understands the current market conditions. Attention to detail is crucial because there are many moving parts. This can help result in a smooth transition.
Your agent will advise you on many important steps throughout the process whether you are buying or selling a home. These actions range from negotiating the sales price to sitting down with you to explain what is important when you sign the contracts required by the California Association of Realtors. There is a lot of information that I will share with you to aid in your ability to make the best decisions.
Real estate agents are required to stay current on the various laws and regulations. A major difference between a realtor licensee and a REALTOR® is that a REALTOR® has taken an oath to subscribe to an enforceable Code of Ethics with Standards of Practice that promote the fair, ethical and honest treatment of all parties in a transaction. Real estate licensees (those that have a state-issued license but are not members of a Realtor association) are not bound to the ethical practices and principles set forth in the REALTOR® Code.
