CLOSING ON YOUR HOME

Closing is the last step prior to getting the keys to your new home. It’s the legal process by which ownership of a home changes hands from one person to another.  The document that shows proof of this is called the grant deed.  The deed of trust is the actual loan document.

Your final Closing Disclosure (CD) is sent to you three days before closing and will resemble the Loan Estimate (LE) which was provided to you earlier in the transaction. This paperwork will be delivered by your lender to the escrow company which will set up your loan signing with a notary.  The paperwork is then delivered back to the lender and verified.  The buyer then wires the closing funds.

Closings in California are generally are not in person.  The lender funds the loan one day and the deed is recorded the following day.

Congratulations on becoming a homeowner!
